waiting for work to start....

Right now I'm at home, relaxing before I go into work at 3pm. Yeah, I'm stuck doing 2nd shift work for a while before I move. Speaking of.... its looking my I don't move till the end of December, but that could change.

Everyone keeps asking if I have found a place yet. I haven't, only because I'm not looking. See, its too early. I check craigslist often, but it does me no good because apartments for a late Dec or early Jan move-in won't be posted till sometime in mid November. Till then, I'm just seeing what the trend is looking like so I'll know what to spend and what part of town I want to live in.

My office is in Buckhead, so if anyone wants to join me for dinner, I take breaks around 7ish.

Flu shots, The Planets, & Late Nights....

Thursday I learned that my work hours were going to change for a while. I knew it would happen, but wasn't sure exactly when that was. I guess I'm learning my job well enough to put me working 3pm-Midnight during the week. The hours are crap hours, I agree, but its OK. I'll learn a lot and it'll help me prepare for what I'll have to do in NYC. My only drawback is that it will prevent me from spending more time with my family before I move. Usually I'll see friends on the weekend, and since I live at home, I'll see the folks during the week. Now I feel like I'll have to juggle my time more. I'm hoping a good compromise will surface soon.

Friday night was awesome! My friends and I had tickets to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to see Gustav Holst's "The Planets". What an amazing performance. I'm very partial to this pice of musical goodness, because I've performed two of the movements (Mars & Jupiter) back in highschool then in college. Really... if you don't like classical music, just give those two a listen.. you might gain a new respect for the classics.

So Monday starts my new work schedule. If anyone wants to come up to Buckhead on my dinner break, that'd be very cool. If you want to meet me after work for a drink, I might just buy the first round. :o) Think about it and get back with me.

I'm serious about buying a round... I can't do it every time, but at least the first time around.

To post, or not to Post... Sure.

Its Monday, and honestly there really isn't much going on. Falcons won, Braves won, Thrashers... forgot if they won. Either way, not a bad weekend.

I'm at my new job, still learning what's all going on, but I like it here and the people are nice. No word yet on my move date to NY, but I'll know soon enough.

Of good news, my sister & her huband will be moving to Washington D.C. They currently live in Seattle and are happy about the move. (I know my foks are... D.C. is only a day's drive away and is the 1/2 way point to NYC).

That's about it for now, I'm sure I'll have more when I get some rest. I'm adjusting to this 5-day work week from the previous 3-day work week.
